Spring is an optimal time to embrace good healthy habits

When I first meet many of my clients, they are often in their "Winter season"—a time when their bodies feel depleted, weary, and longing for nourishment. It’s not uncommon to hear stories of years, even decades, spent in cycles of restrictive eating, punishing food rules, or oscillating between famine and feast. Like a landscape in the depths of Winter, their bodies have endured harsh conditions, conserving energy and bracing for survival.


A woman's body, in particular, is profoundly attuned to the rhythms of nature. The intricate dance of reproductive hormones throughout a monthly cycle mirrors the shifting seasons of the year—each phase requiring unique nourishment and care. Just as nature blossoms in Spring after Winter's dormancy, the body too can be guided toward renewal and growth.


Embracing Gentle Transformation


When someone makes the courageous decision to improve their health, they often expect immediate and dramatic changes, much like flipping a switch from night to day. However, true transformation seldom arrives in such a sudden burst. In personalised nutrition, change is more akin to the gradual unfolding of Spring—marked by small, consistent, and purposeful steps. The buds of progress appear slowly, nurtured by intention and care.

When I recognise a client in their Winter season, I begin the gentle process of bringing warmth and nourishment into their lives. This nourishment isn't just about food—though that plays a vital role. It may involve supporting the thyroid, adrenals, nervous system, or gut—tending to whatever "roots" need care to cultivate growth. Like a gardener observing the first tender shoots after the frost, I offer nourishment tailored to each client's unique needs.

Embracing transformation

Fertilising the Soil of Health


Most imbalances in the body stem from nutrient, vitamin, and mineral insufficiencies. It may sound counterintuitive, but I often encourage clients to consume more of the right foods to achieve their goals—whether it's losing weight, boosting energy, sleeping better, or managing stress. Just as a gardener would never starve their plants to make them stronger, we must never deprive our bodies if we want them to thrive. Growth requires fertile soil, sunlight, and water—similarly, the human body needs the building blocks of life to flourish.


When I see my clients begin to nourish themselves, I witness something beautiful: their Winter thaws into Spring. Their energy returns, sleep improves, and their moods brighten, much like the Earth itself waking up after a long slumber. What was once barren begins to bloom.

Finding Your Spring


Now, as the world around us bursts into the vibrant season of growth and rebirth, it’s the perfect time to plant, fertilise, and grow our bodies with life-giving nutrients. Spring is an invitation—a reminder that change is possible, and new beginnings are always within reach. Just as nature moves with the seasons, so can we.
