Hi there, and welcome to FNX. My name is Lois and I’ve had a passion for health for over 17 years.

I’m an ex professional dancer, so fitness and exercise has been an important part of my life. During my training at professional ballet school I developed crippling depression which saw me become extremely agoraphobic. I was only 18 at the time and I wasn’t aware of what was going on. It took 3 years to be diagnosed with major depressive disorder and from there my journey consisted of navigating the mental health service, going through years of exploration, many trials, and a few errors, I've personally discovered some powerful interventions, strategies and tools to help with anxiety and depression. And, nutrition is a huge intervention!

Good health and wellbeing is a multifactorial approach. The foods and fluids we consume, the air we breathe, the exercise we do or don’t do, the relationships we have with our friends, family and community, and lastly, our purpose in life – all combine to either promote health or promote disease. Health cannot be bottled and sold in a pill, as much as we wish this were true, and although modern medicine is a marvel and has saved lives in acute diseases, relying on our current medical model to fix all our health problems, or indeed to keep us healthy, has not worked for us so far as we’re seeing rising rates of lifestyle diseases.

Armed with the knowledge I’ve accrued over the years, and through my education and training in naturopathic nutrition, I feel compelled to help others with their health issues. I know that there is a way to come back to health and stability.
